Meet the Team
David Evans MA MSc CEng FICE
David Evans is the Team Leader. After 40 years in the Construction Industry, he has extensive global experience working on multi-disciplinary projects largely for harnessing water for community benefit. He has held positions for commercial business management, project appraisals and co-ordinating engineering design and construction covering traditional procurement routes, fast-tracking and Design and Build. David has experience of organising major works which need the cooperation of the public and private sectors and so is unusually qualified to bring about the partnership that is necessary for this major scheme to be successfully fulfilled.
He worked on the design of barrages across the Severn estuary for the Severn Tidal Power Group in the late 1980s and subsequently with Hafren Power in the early 2010s. David is also a Director of Natural Energy Wyre, promoting a barrage across the mouth of the Wyre Estuary in Fleetwood, Lancashire.
David Grundy
David has an extensive financial and commercial background, including more than 10 years as a Corporate Finance partner in the accounting profession, as a plc NED, and as a board advisor to fast-growth businesses. His particular expertise is in strategic planning and leadership in a change environment.
David has a particular expertise in the energy sector. This includes as a director and owner in Natural Energy Wyre, and an energy storage start-up, giving him an intimate knowledge of the UK energy markets.
Bob Long MSc MInstR
Bob Long is an engineer with 40 years of experience in design engineering, product development and commercial business management. He holds an MSc in Marine & Mechanical Engineering and currently sits on an advisory board with DECC.
Bob is Managing Director of Eco Innovate Ltd, a company engaged in the development of de-skilling components for the renewable heating industry. He is also the Managing Director of Natural Energy Wyre, a company promoting the development of a barrage across the Wyre Estuary in Fleetwood, Lancashire.
